The other day, Mike and I had a debate on whether an animal would still be alive if it was swallowed whole. I decidedly lost the argument.
Here's the transcript, beginning with Mike's initial assertion:
If an animal was swallowed whole it would still be alive inside the stomach.
No, the stomach acid would digest it.
But what if it had a platform to stand on? Then it could live.
No. It would run out of air.
But what if it had a space helmet and an unlimited supply of oxygen? Then it could stay alive.
Fine. If it had food and water and air to breathe then, yes, it could live.
... and a platform.
